Sisters Kirsty and Lorna started 'It's in the bag!' in 2012 after running several highly successful parties for their own children, of which there are 7!

"We appreciated that not all parents wanted to become children's party entertainers, even for one day and we wanted to offer children's parties and events that were a little bit different"

Kirsty is a fully qualified teacher and ran and organised the programme for preschool children in a parenting group. Lorna has a background in theatre and psychology and has worked as a children's face painter for over 15 years. Both Kirsty and Lorna are 'Professional Storytellers' as recognised by the Scottish Storytelling Network. The demand for 'It's in the bag!' has grown and there are now a team of storytellers delivering our unique offering - delighting children across Edinburgh and beyond. The 'It's in the bag!' team are experienced, fully insured and disclosed under the PVG scheme.

 

'It's in the bag!' won the 2013 Netmums award for Best Scottish Children's Entertainers and were 'Highly Commended' in the What's On for Juniors Awards 2015. They are regulars at the Scottish Storytelling Centre with over 30 sell out shows. They have performed at the Brunton Theatre's Hogmanay celebrations for the last 4 years.

In 2018 'It's in the bag!' parties were delighted to achieve preferred storytelling partner status with Historic Environment Scotland, and are looking forward to working with Holyrood House.
